This is so far the oldest wheat penny I've found. All the others are in bad bad shape. This one to me is beautiful. What's the oldest and/or rarest you guys have?

Hey Dennis, did you find this in your change? You're right though it's in very good shape! :^D I think I have a few older than 1860's, but started collecting in 1966, just after the US Mint stopped minting silver coins in 1964. I didn't have very much money at 11yrs. old, but if I found a wheat back penny, or any silver coins in my change, I'd try to save it! When I was working for the owner of an Antique/Junque Store, at 12-19yrs. old, sometimes she would pay me 1/2 my pay if I wanted, in silver, unless I needed some extra money for spending, I would take the 1/2 pay deal, but only got $1.hr anyway, so 4hrs. work, was $2.pay, and $2. in silver. Sometimes, it was a hard choice, but tried as often as I could! :^)

Yes I did find it in my change I forgot about. Glad I checked it before cashing it in. The oldest coin I had was a 1869 I think or 1875 California $20 gold token but it wasn't even gold. I was told it was like a stock but worthless. :( . You started young and sounds interesting to get paid in silver. Exciting :)

It was fun, but at that age and time I could get 5 burgers for $1. at the Dairy Belle, and $1. more for 5 drinks and fries, so my friends and I could all have some! :^D The coin find that I thought was the best, was when I was 19yrs. old, and while paying my power bill, the cashier gave me 2 Mercury Dimes in my change. I asked if she had any more dimes like these, and she said all of the last roll she put in the till were, and she sold me the 39 Dimes that were left for $3.90! I had to have peanut butter sandwich for dinner, but it was worth it! I still have that same roll of 41 Mercury Dimes, 43yrs later! I've gotten more, and got better buys, but that one was my most memorable! :^)

I have a 1910 lincoln penny. My oldest coin is a draped bust dime from around 1800

That is one pretty penny. My oldest modern coin is a Dutch East India Company Half Duit from 1734.

Only if we could post pics in the comments. I would LOVE to see them. Impressive on keeping that same roll all these years. Wow. I remember I had 2 $2 bills or one was a $5 and one had red bar numbers the other blue. I was a teenager and traded them for 3 packs of cigs from my mom's friend. WTF was I thinking.

The oldest I've ever found in change was almost ten years ago, and it was an 1893. As for the oldest coin I have, I'm not sure. I have 1 that cannot be newer than AD 75.

Oh wow . Did you get it appraised?
