Over the weekend I was in southern Indiana with some friends looking at a 1940 Ford and a 67 Oldsmobile 442. At one of our stops this stick and ball umbrella stand was in a small antique store. I knew it was special when I first saw it. Just think 128 years old and still looks this awesome. Someone took great care of it all these years and now it’s home in my collection. I will take care of it until the next caretaker gets it and hopefully that will be several years away.

Thank you OLECODY for sharing the love! I’m way ahead of you on the umbrellas. I’ve got several umbrellas and canes from the early 1900’s. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving day and stay safe!!

officialfuel, Beautiful. :-)
That patent on the brass hardware caught my eye, so I did a bit of looking around:
*snip*
The brass supports are stamped Feb. 16, 1892.
This 1892 patent was issued to James W. Campbell of Germantown, NY and assigned to the Ferguson Brothers of New York City, a manufacturer of “novelty furniture”. Campbell was issued many patents for furniture designs.
