This is an enamelware measuring cup in very nice condition. Looks it was never or very carefully used. Doesn't look like the label has water damage which leaves the label all wrinkled. Speaking of the label is says The Vollrath Co. Since 1874. Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Later labels have more information so I am thinking 1920s just an educated guess. That is way better than a regular guess.
It is a bit over 5" tall and holds one quart / 1000 C. C. or Gram like it says on the inside. The measurement markings are on the inside unlike the usual clear measuring cup. It has no measurement for a cup though. OK that would be 4 cups. It does have the Pint which is 2 cups. The Pint is not a common measurement in the US. The Pint cup is usually called a Pound cup despite that pound is weight and not a volume.
Enamelware is a glass coating. There is a fair chance I might drop it and chip the glass. Same stuff the best signs are made out of. Easy to clean and doesn't fade but just don't chip it. That is why Vollrath switched to stainless steel. The company is still around today.

I wonder if this was intended for 'industrial' usage in a lab/etc. instead of a home kitchen. Don't know *why* I wonder that, I just do... <lol> (my recent-find bedpan is from Vollrath, mebbe that's why??)

Thank you very much AO. It may have been used for "samples".
