I have a collection of enameled Harrach crackle vases, and this new piece is one of my favorites. Indoors it is a very delicate pale green, and it has three different scenes of apple blossoms and daisies beautifully painted in enamel between the three small handles. It also has clusters of gold specks painted on the vase in random areas. I took it outside into the sunlight, and was surprised by what a vibrant lime green it suddenly became! I don't think I have seen glass do this before. Other colors I have of Harrach's crackle vases are topaz, olive and clear. It measures 5-1/2" tall (14cm) x 6" (15.2cm) wide, and dates to about 1890.

Very nice! Probably has got some uranium in it, bit like my spiky bowl not much colour inside take it outside and it's shows green.
BHIFOS, yes, it glows like crazy under black light - it is very uv reactive. I was just surprised by how much it changed color in sunlight - much like your spiky bowl sounds like it does!

May just be decorative ... although method the shapes were formed looks interesting ... ... I did have to check the base for a patent ... mark ... :-)

Hi Steve, no, there is no lettering on the vase. I think you are seeing one of the random patches of gold specks that are on the vase; they must have added them for that extra bit of sparkle!
