Turkey seems to have gone through a lot of bayonets as I run across them often. This one was originally made for the German Mauser 8mm rifle. An extra plate was added to the upper tang where it attaches to the rifle barrel to make it fit on an M1 Garand. The Grand barrel is 1 millimeter smaller so the smaller ring was added. The US started giving Turkey M1 Garands starting in 1953 and ending in 1972. No bayonets were provided thus the conversion. It is marked AS FA near the release button although I don't have a photo. The release button works and it is a fully functional bayonet. It just needs an M1 Garand.
