I am marking my 800th post with this unusual vase. The glass is the colour of beach sand, with an outer layer of green glass on the upper part, which subtly fades away. The flat rim is gilded and the flowers are enamelled.
This Loetz vase, shape and décor appears twice on Loetz.com. Once in the article on Early Loetz and once amongst the DEKs. Thus no guessing on this one!

A truly outstanding piece to mark your 800th post, Peggy!
Thank you for all those enjoyable posts, showing the remarkable diversity of your collection...for me, when I first started out on CW, your collection quickly became a source of both inspiration & information, & helped me to better understand my own interests in glass. Our tastes often converge, & I'm always keen to see your latest acquisitions!
This is a wonderful vase, elegant in its simplicity, yet as you noted, unusual as well. A class act!

racer4four, thank you. As ever you are generous in your comments, Karen, and all I can say is, Back at you! Your posts have been both an education, and a pleasure. And sometimes they've been fun too!

Iron Lace, thank you. I must say, Marin, I remember you joining C.W. and quickly got to looking out for your posts. Through you I came to see Victorian glass in a different light and to embrace the ornateness of it with less reserve. When I first discovered C.W. I was collecting M.C.M. Czech pressed glass.

Ivonne, Thank you. I always enjoy the glass you choose and appreciate the information you add to each post. Hopefully, Iwona, there'll be more soon.

Peggy, I just saw this one - it is wonderful!! I love this coloration, called 'Sphinx,' very much and hope to own one myself someday. The glass itself fades from deep green to the beige - there is no paint involved. Loetz.com describes it as "Dark green spreading to pinkish beige" here: https://loetz.com/decors-a-z/phaenomen-genres/sphinx What a special piece for your 800th(!!) post! :)

Thank you for your help, Michelle. I've corrected my error so that it won't be misleading for others.
