This isn't a Ka-bar but it is the same knife by another licensed manufacturer. It is the combat knife Mark 2 but is known as a Ka-Bar. I have an actual Ka-Bar with it in the last photo. There are some differences such as the cap on the end of the handle is a bit thinner. A bit unusual for American military equipment but I will bet all pieces are interchangeable. That was done with tight tolerances. Every piece will go together no problem.
This type of knife is called a clip point. It is like a smaller Bowie knife. These knives would be carried by those who did not have a weapon that used a bayonet. The leather handle is nicer than the bayonet handles aside from the M1 Carbine bayonet. It had the same handle as the Mark 2.
Have an exciting EEII helmet coming up so stay tunrf.
Nice knives. I had to look through my posts..I swore I had posted my kabars. Mine are a little newer(Vietnam era) and one has an amusing lesson.
Nice set of knives!!
