Odd copper piece I can't figure out much about. Not sure of its original use. It was once connected to something else since there are holes along the edge. It looks like it's orientations goes one way ince the hearts would be shown in the proper orientation. Still unsure or what it is from.
I'm guessing a hanging lantern? Similar to these, but with the pice at the bottom instead of the top?

i love it! the top of a Japanese lantern. i have a stone one similar to it.
tough call , because there are so many for so many types and purposes , but i stick to dave
probably so called portable heart roof ligtner , holes in the lid , can,t see the ring is missing, the shape probably shuts out an pagoda lightner
something strange about the alloy, does,not look 19 century
