Thanks for the info, appreciate it! It looks good in my collection.
Thanks, I have some of the copper looking ones too. Great historical items from my family.
I was way off on that one. Thanks for the info!
Thanks, now I can see how that would work
Now these things make sense to me. Thanks!!!
More pics added.
Much simpler than I was thinking. For sure some nice old stuff.
That lid looks like it came from another piece.
That makes lots of sense. No marks on bottom. Now I know they are sometimes referred to as pickling crocks.
Thanks for the replies. 70's vintage sounds about right. No snow to shovel this year! New York and New Jersey guys of course love the signs in the background!
Tried to get an opinion from the feathweight site folks but have not heard back from them yet. Very rare machine indeed.
Thanks for confirming my findings concerning the serial number. I thought I was doing something wrong even though it is not complicated. Must be a manufacturing error.
Finally following up on this featherweight. Serial number shows AF939123 I can't make any sense of the database, help!
Thanks for the replies on the great find.
Took it out of the frame today. No marking or writing anywhere. Just an unknown character!
Thanks for the information. Another Singer in the stable!
Thanks for this wealth of information. I want to get started with some basics on this machine and this will help. Yes, the Canadian JC serial numbers have little information for the novice. Glad t...
Maybe just run of the mill costume jewelry bought in Two Guys at the time!
A cigar smoker informed me to simply press the blade down to cut the cigar end.
Thanks Lou, I was able to find the 1938 catalog showing this item thanks to you!
I looked over all the Starrett info and did not find any info. A brief note from Starrett was included with the item and said it was complimentary from the company. Maybe it was a promotional item g...
Thanks, and sorry for the delay in replying. I had time today to take a few more pics and now I see your reply! . It sounds like a useful tool to handgon to. I have an old grinder and will keep it...
There is a flywheel on top with a clutch. The rotary motion of the flywheel gets converted to up and down energy used to push the drill bit into your work. Basically the operator just pulls the han...
Thanks guys. I will check it out tomorrow and get some more photos. I happen to see this photo on my phone and posted it today.
It all makes sense now, thanks!
Amazing, they had a 100 year run on that product!
That would be LOUD!
That is a threaded plug with a square head. This is a Millers Falls tool, I noticed that stamped on it.
