The GI Joe Desert Attack Jeep is my GI Joe Holy Grail. It was based on the TYV Rat Patrol and came with a driver in the Australian Soldier uniform. Hasbro added a .45 pistol and googles. They actually needed 2 figures for a gunner and driver.
Photos #2 and 3 show the jeep as it came. Pretty bare bones but there is the windshield and the GI Joe sticker on the bumper. It was reissued for the Adventure Team but had the AT sticker plus an emblem on the hood.
The 3D printer replacement parts are the tripod and machine gun and mount. I just got a reissue Aussie Soldier yesterday and the 3s parts today so woo hoo!
Eventually I will get the proper driver figure and a complete jeep. Aside from wanting a complete original jeep two jeeps are required to ;play Rat Patrol.
Very cool desert jeep, with the soldiers I immediately thought Rat Patrol as have been watching the old shows on TV
Your Jeep brought back a funny memory of Vietnam. Ashalman and I were on guard duty on a newly cleared area, they had stung out 3 rows of concertina razer wire. We were put on 24 hour guard duty 4 on 4 off. We were in an armored plated Jeep with a 50 cal. on the back. I was driving Ash was sleeping by the gun!! It was about 2 in the morning driving slowly around in a small circle with blackout lights . I fell asleep and drove into the wire waking us up!!
Ash popped up grabbed the 50 then we saw what happened gave a chuckle. In the daylight the Sargent said what happened to the wire?? We knew Nothing!!!
yougottahavestuff: that's a good story. Thank you for sharing.
