Happy Valentines Day To My CW Friends!
Sansa & Ueli made you this heart for Valentines Day! I hope you have someone in your life that loves you as much as my dogs love me.
Sansa (female)- Named after Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones.
"She initially starts off with a very naive view of the world, but as time goes on and she and her family suffer one cruelty and betrayal after another, she becomes a more hardened and learned individual."
I think the character description could easily describe my dog. She is a pure bred blue(rare) Belgian Malinois Shepherd that must've started out with a family. She was found wandering the streets of LA, starving(42 lbs)and in bad shape..half the hair gone from her body due to bugs and stress. Now she is fearless..loud noises, fireworks, the distant sounds of gunfire from the local range and military base training have no effects on her.
UELI (male) - Named after Swiss rock climber and mountaineer Ueli Steck.
"He was the first to climb Annapurna solo via its South Face, and set speed records on the North Face trilogy in the Alps. He won two Piolet d'Or awards, in 2009 and 2014. Having previously summitted Mount Everest, Steck died on 30 April 2017 after falling during an acclimatizing climb for an attempt on the Hornbein route on the West Ridge of Everest without supplemental oxygen."
Although my dog loves people, he is is also very content just laying around solo without a care in the world. He loves the outdoors and has no issue laying in the dirt, snow or mud. But just the mention of frisbee lights up his face and he turns into a world class athlete. He could be laying with his eyes closed and you say "frisbee" and he'll jump to his feet ready to go. He is the typical fawn color, black faced Belgian Malinois Shepherd.
Sansa and Ueli were both adopted through The Woof Project. They both had rough starts to life. They often cry in their sleeps dreaming of bad memories. They been with me for 2 years now and are inseparable. They love playing together and sleeping on the bed.
dav2no1, Happy Valentine's Day backatcha. :-)
Kiss those dog babies for me. <3
Happy VD! (Yes, I know how that sounds!)
Sansa and Ueli are certainly a beautiful pair!! We've adopted two rescues over the years, so thank you Dave for giving Sansa and Ueli a much better life!
Thank you Sansa, Ueli & Dave for that great Valentine heart and your good wishes! They sound like wonderful dogs who love their master very much - good on you for adopting rescue dogs I know they make loving pets
- Jenni
Thank you Kera!
Thanks Kevin.. haha
Thanks Scott & Jenni - I adopted them just after my mother passed away...they kind of rescued me too. It was a difficult journey and learning curve with these dogs. It took a long time for them to settle down and accept this was their home and not some temporary stop, like the previous foster homes.
Every time I goto the vet, he tells me.."You have won the lottery.." because of the demeanor of both dogs compared to other malinois he sees. I'd like to take a little credit for that, but it's mostly the dogs.
My absolute favorite!
Vintagelamp - thanks for the comments and loving my dog post.
Gorgeous dogs! I’m glad they found a safe and caring home with you.
They are beautiful ! Such a great story too. They've found their forever home. All my previous companions cats or dogs seem to have found me as well whether shelter or stray. Fiona is the exception. My last Scottie Mitzi was a rescue from an Amish puppy mill and the best dog in spite of her first 3 years of life being less than ideal.
