    Funny thing, I’ve had this box for years and was always bummed that the handle was missing. Then the other day I had turned it upside down and when I turned it back up and opened it the handle fell out! It had apparently been taped under the fold out part!
    I love it and wish I knew what year it’s from.

      Yeah, Google Lens didn't turn up any twins.

      There are of course a lot of wooden cases for thread out there on the Internet, but most of them have a brand name on them, because they were designed to showcase goods for retail vendors.

      A text search for "stepped thread holder" turned up this modern 3D printed stand:

      I can see some dedicated sewer putting in a "Honey do" request with her hubby for a thread caddy.
