1930s Depression Glass Ship
Victory Glass Company. This is a condiment dish, probably mustard.
This piece is really cool. Not a big money piece, but something you don't see every day.
"REMEMBER THE MAINE"
A slogan of the Spanish-American War. The United States battleship Maine mysteriously exploded and sank in the harbor of Havana, Cuba, in 1898. At first thought to be an accidental internal explosion when a spontaneous coal fire detonated the 6-inch shell magazine. In a later investigation, a U.S. Navy board of inquiry ruled that the ship had been sunk by an external explosion from a mine.
Many Americans also didn’t want Spain to control land so close to the U.S. They wanted America to be more powerful in the Caribbean. Several newspapers published stories that weren’t always true or were exaggerated. This was called Yellow Journalism. Feelings and false stories stirred up America and they declared war against Spain.
Nice one Dave!! Great story as well.
wow! great find!

Awesome glass ship Dave, it's really beautiful
dav2no1, Cool. :-)
It came in other colors (although, despite my slight pink phobia, I like pink glass):

I have edited to add information..

Many people have misidentified these as candy dishes, but the small size points to a condiment dish.
Thanks to everyone for the comments and loves. I like when we can learn history from pieces. This is an interesting story.
