This Antique California Tile is what I found Today May 23, 2024, going through a drawer of old books, that I've had for Years, it's an S & S (Solon & Schemmel) Tile Co. - San Jose, Cal Tile with a great Art Deco, or Craftsmen Design, I'm not sure if I got this one, or my Wife did, but it's in unused condition. The Tile is 6"x 6"sq. x 5/8" thick. The Table Runner, that I photographed it on I found at the Flea Market, this past Saturday, and to me they had to be Photographed together! :^D

This Tile is an Original, unused Tile, from the S & S Tile Co. San Jose, Cal. :^D

Up-Date: On my way down to visit my Granddaughter, for Her 2nd Birthday Party, on August 9th-11th weekend, I thought it would be a good chance to stop by Stone Light Tile Co. since I pass through San Jose, California, on my way to Santa Barbara, Calif., because I wanted to give them this S & S Tile and table-runner! It needs to be seen, by Everyone, and after Talking to David, and His Wife, the Owners of Stone Light, they told me that they have been trying to, get a display, at the City's Art and History Museum, but if not, open a Museum, of their own, for Historic, Pottery and Tiles made in the Area. After Looking at all the Beautiful Tiles that they Display, on the walls of their Business, and me telling Them about my Granddaughter's 2nd Birthday, they gave me, to give my Granddaughter, this Beautiful 3"x3" Dragonfly Stone Light Tile, writing on the back, to Her, Signing and dating it! What a Treasure! Bill :^D

Thank You for Looking, all Comments, on this Post are Welcome and Appreciated! Bill :^)

      Here's some information about S & S Tile Co. :
      https://stonelighttile.com/about-us/

Apparently, Stone Light Tile still makes the Replacement Tiles using the same Presses, as S & S did in the 1920's - 30's Hmm! Thanks for looking! Bill :^)

Thank You Kevin, Yes it is! I wish I could figure out, if this is an original, or one that they made recently, it doesn't change, how it looks, just information wise! Bill :^D

No keramikos, that was just very nice of You to remind Everyone! Bill :^D

A Find at the Flea Market Today. (just to see one). in Concord. California, an early Circus Show, hand painted on an 8' x 10' Canvas for "The Mind Reading Lady", with a Painted picture of Her sitting in a high back chair with bubbles of what She was seeing in audience minds, painted in front. With the Chicago Awning Company, that made it, signed on the bottom, and a stamped on the back! :^D I forgot to take a photograph of it, and the full Name of the Awning Company. It had 1 1/2" grommets through a 3" triple layer Canvas around the edge. I'll have to see if I can have the person that was selling it to send me a picture, so I can Post it Here! It was Sold! Not to me! Bill :^)
