Here am I buying dead things again. but you don't see a rattlesnake in a box everyday. Looks a bit like one of the borrowable pieces they have at the LA County museum, The case is 12" x 12" with glass on all sides and the top. There is no way to open it. The snake looks to be about 3 feet long. It could easily eat a rat and of course a dangerous bite. The fangs are close to a half inch long.
Not exactly sure which spicies as it has faded a bit. Looks like perhaps a western diamondback or a Pacific.
Also this seems to be freeze dried as the ribs are showing through at a few point.
A rattler in mid-strike, how cool is that! Don't think the cats would be so blase if it weren't cased :)
one of the few things in live i did,not eat , Bonampak or Yaksilan i believe, met snakes near the Taj MAhal, although i am an awfull coward , not a problem really i knew they remove the teeth,
Fantastic piece you found!
Maybe the snake that persuaded Eve to eat an apple from the tree of knowledge ? ...
Golgatha,,,Mmmm, funny you should write that
Because Golgatha is the name of the mount where
Jesus was crucified ,,,As far as the snake. and Eve
That was a talking serpent,,this snake uses a rattling
To let its victims know to live in fear + end near
What a life it would have been
Without the knowledge of
evil and Good,,they always knew Good
The serpent introduced evil ,What say Ye ?
Remember also the serpent s punishment
from God was that he slither on his Belly
From now on
Halleluja, Reverend Vynil ...
Fort ,,,,,sorry about tying up your post
