My second patrol flag. To back up a bit Troops were broken up into patrols which would generally be boys of a common age. Everyone in the patrol would have a patrol patch on their right shoulder that would match the patrol flag. The patrol flag would be used at meetings, hikes and so on. I am fairly sure this is Eagle Patrol, yep that hooked beak is an eagle. The flag is 18" long not counting the strings. I am lacking the pole. This is pre-1980 before the uniform change. Could be much earlier, it does have a nice patina or stains, whichever it wears them well.
Note to Dave I have some other pins to get together before I post the one you sent me. It is taking longer than I thought.
PS if you look very closely you may find a hidden cat. It is Mr Jingles.
Great patrol flag, Mr Jingles is keeping his eye on it
Thank you very much Newfld. I believe you found Mr Jingles.
I've been on the look out for some flags myself, that's a great one.
Give Mr Jingles a belly rub from me
Thank you very much elanski. Belly has been rubbed.
