Apparently I have two of these but hopefully they are different somehow. This is an Eocene mammal from 48-33 million years ago. I am thinking it is the earlier part. It was the size of a rhinoceros and was the largest mammal of its time. While a rhino is large there are many larger prehistoric creatures. At 42 million years ago they were still recovering from the dinosaur extinction 20 million years earlier.
A rule for mammals of this time is knobs and horns on the head and saber teeth although this is not related to the saber tooth cats.
In the last photo it is with last week's Megacerops. Uintatherium should be the last word in a selling test.
