    This was a neat buy it now that I picked on eBay AU!
    I've bought a few other Art Nouveau pieces from this same seller.
    This squat vase measures 9 cm tall, 12.5 cm across the wide, wavy top rim, & 5.7 cm across the base, which has a slightly rough pontil mark. It shades from clear to green & has an intense iridescent finish. A nice example of the Combed Relief decor.
    Made by Kralik, circa 1900.

      Beautiful piece. Congratulations. However, I would rather attribute the production to the Teplice area. Perhaps Steinwald.

      I would be of the opinion that this is likely Rindskopf production. Several companies made this optic pattern. In this case, the body of the vase seems to have the top half of an elongated pattern I refer to as concentric diamonds. Welz made some, I believe Kralik made some, and Rindskopf made it also.

      The shape, pattern and coloration would lean me towards Rindskopf as the production house, and the pontil work is fairly indicative of many pieces of Rindskopf art glass I have had through the years.

      I must say I've seen some vases in the Pepita decor with this same relief design. Would be thrilled to think I've scored some more Rindskopf product...

      FWIW, I think it is important to point out that the suggestion of Steinwald was made by someone whose own website has about 200 decors on the Steinwald page, and an alarming number of those carry a dual attribution of "Rindskopf, Steinwald", a practice which to me says that he is unable to differentiate and actually attribute the production in a robust manner.

      I am of the opinion that in almost all instances of similar decors being produced by several firms, the different versions can be differentiated. That can be done through the use of shapes, levels of execution, and other aspects of the production. That process can be, and is often quite time consuming, but the work required to do so is worthwhile, especially if the objective is to accurately attribute the production of this art glass. IMHO, in far too many instances, those same decors also appear on the Rindskopf page with dual attributions.

      I have seen little in the way of evidence, either empirical or documentary, which would lead me away from this being Rindskopf production.
