Old Solingen German hunting dagger

I found this on craigslist. The previous owner was a " contractor" in Iraq who was stabbed in the right thigh with this. As he fell backwards, he pulled his boot gun and killed his attacker. How a knife like this came into the hands of an Iraqi in modern times seems like quite a mystery. You can only imagine the history behind this knife.
