Not exactly my usual green handled kitchen utensil but close enough. The handle isn't wood like the others. It is marked PRODUCTSUS on the end along with Patent Pending which reveals pretty much nothing..
The action on this is quite smooth as it tends to be with vintage items.
PS this is also great for serving mashed potatoes.

      Kool,, Super Scooper
      Instead of 33 armadillos
      perhaps 33 1/3 scoopers :)
I was just wondering why in the
      Jerusalem Post they would
      as a unit of measuring
      measure something in armadillos

      fortapache, Ah, blue-green things. };-)

The brand name is "PROGRESSUS," and I found some near twins.

This one is the same color, and the vendor describes it as having a patent; however, they provided a poorly focused picture thereof:

      https://www.etsy.com/at/listing/1091701951/vintage-1960s-progressus-ice-cream-scoop

Fortunately, I found a worthpoint listing that gives the patent number:

      https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-ice-cream-adjustable-scoops-1880202914

      Here's the patent:

      https://patents.google.com/patent/US2782454A/en

      So, 1950s or later vintage.

Here's an eBay listing with an array of Progressus utensils (made in Italy):

Thank you very much Vynil. I think this would only be a fraction of an armadillo.

Thank you very much keramikos. It seems this could be a Bakelite handle. I shall explore the links further.

      fortapache:

"It seems this could be a Bakelite handle."

It could be, but here is a tidbit from the patent:

"A preferred plastic material comprises polystyrene which can be pigmented and molded easily to form resistant structures."

Polystyrene is actually older than Bakelite:
