1918 Harley. I don't know much else. It was in my father's basement for 50 years and it's been in mine for thirty more. I would appreciate any comments about it. I think it's beautiful just because my ancestors rode it. Thank you.

Should be worth the farm! The kind of Harley you see at a large Christie's type auction for cars & motorcycles.

perhaps the third and fourth entries will give you some ideas...

Can i be one of your ancestors. I want to ride it. Very cool and everyones dream to have one of them sitting in their basement. Between you and me, i'd move it to the living room.

Wow super nice. Get it out of the basement and display it with pride. You can tell it's a harley by the oil uderneath it.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. :) The bike hasn't been ridden since the 1950s. I have no idea what it's worth and I don't know how to find out. To me, it's priceless.

I could give you someone's name who could tell you all about it and value
      email me at cyclespast@vermontel.net

Harley's are like male dogs, they like to mark where they've been..but this one's like a very old dog that's been in the same place way too long! Awesome bike!...get that puppy road worthy and take him out!

What a family Heirloom! All I got was the family Bible. It's been over four months since the original post. Could you give us an update on what you have found out about the bike? What you have decided to do with it. If it was mine I would just do what it would take to get it running and preserve the original surfaces.

Get it OUT of the basement. It needs to breathe. :)
    23. BetsyAnn, 14 years ago
I still haven't really found out anything about the bike. I get conflicting info about its value (anywhere from $5-30,000). Sorry everyone, I'm trying. :)

When you move it up to the living room you can throw the tv out and put it in its place. I would watch it for hours. LOL!

electraglide, insanity is hereditary, you get it from your kids.
I'm wondering if i get a tax-free musee' status, maybe i could get some idiots to donate some of this great merde for a tax deductions (on their dutch taxes)?
damned, what a beauty. I can confirm it's a Harley because of the oil leak spots under it.
    26. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
Oops! Didn't show, so thought I forgot to hit SUBMIT. Senility has its advantages, - I just can't remember what they are!

I just drooled on my key-pad. Can anybody tell me what I should expect to happen?

The oil leak spots prove nothing! Could just as easily be a Triumph or any bike come to that! Love it. I've never seen such an old Harly.
